Earth Broadband: What's on offer?

Earth Broadband offer nationally available broadband packages with the feel-good bonus of planting one tree every month in reforestation projects.

Working in partnership with reforestation partners, Earth Broadband has so far planted over 24,000 mangrove trees in Madagascar. These projects help to restore the landscape and its communities, as well as contribute towards mitigating global climate change.

Customers who want to help make a bigger impact can also take out the Earth Hero add-on, which plants an additional four mangrove trees every month for just £4.99.

Earth Broadband also offer UK-based support and a proprietary mobile app to make it easier for customers to manage their account. It's also possible to add a landline phone service to full fibre plans which includes unlimited UK calls.

Customers can choose from one of three broadband speed tiers:

• Seedling 80Mb
• Sapling 115Mb
• Forest 1Gb

It's also possible to choose between one of three contract lengths; 12, 18 and 24 months, with no additional fees to pay for choosing a longer or shorter plan.

Availability of Earth Broadband

Earth Broadband are working with the Openreach wholesale network to bring broadband to homes across the UK.

Their full fibre broadband packages are available to over 16 million premises, while all other homes will be able to access their superfast part fibre plan with average download speeds of around 60Mbps.

Openreach aim to connect 25 million premises by the end of 2026, so availability for Earth Broadband's faster full fibre broadband packages will continue to increase.

Earth Broadband speeds

Earth Broadband offer both superfast part and full fibre broadband speeds, as well as the option of a gigabit broadband deal in full fibre enabled areas.

Those who've yet to be reached by Openreach full fibre will be able to choose the Seedling 80Mb plan, while those in full fibre enabled areas will be able to choose from:

Advertised average download speeds must be received by at least 50% of a provider's customer base during the busiest times of 8pm to 10pm in the evening. So, these headline speeds are a reliable indication of the speed a customer will receive.

While Earth Broadband's upload speeds are asymmetrical, which means they're slower than the headline download speed, this is common among other Openreach resellers including BT, Sky, TalkTalk, and even Virgin Media's cable broadband.

New customer offers

New customers to Earth Broadband will help with reforestation projects in Madagascar as the provider plants one mangrove tree for every customer each month.

There is no setup or activation fee to pay when joining Earth Broadband, but monthly prices are standard without introductory incentives.

Earth Broadband packages can be taken with minimum term contracts of either 12, 18 or 24 months in length.

The monthly price and setup fees do not vary between contract lengths, so customers have flexibility of choice on how long they want to be tied down for. Customers should be aware early termination charges will apply for those who cancel their contract before the end of the minimum term.

Earth Broadband say prices may change during the contract but they don't specify by how much. This means if prices do go up, Earth Broadband should give customers notice as well as the option to end their contract early.

While a router is provided with all Earth Broadband deals, this remains the property of Earth Broadband and they request its return within 7 days if a customer ends their service.
