Virgin Media launches Premier Sports Rugby channel

Sports fans who subscribe to the Premier Sports channel pack on Virgin Media will now benefit from an additional channel at no extra cost.

Premier Sports Rugby will be the UK's first dedicated rugby channel, with 24/7 coverage and offering access to the most comprehensive club rugby coverage across the UK.

Existing subscribers will find the new content on channel 553, while those interested can add the Premier Sports pack for £15.99 per month.

Virgin Media customers who subscribe to Premier Sports will now receive an extra channel at no extra cost.

The new Premier Sports Rugby channel, available on channel 553, will show rugby matches including from the Investec Champions Cup, EPCR Challenge Cup, the United Rugby Championship and some of the biggest games from the TOP14.

Viewers will also be able to watch two live games from every round of the star-studded topflight Japanese Rugby League One and the best games from the Major League Rugby competition in the USA.

Sports on Virgin Media

Premier Sports is an additional channel pack available for both Virgin Media TV 360 and Virgin Media Flex TV services. It costs £15.99 per month and includes Premier Sports 1, Premier Sports 2, and the new Premier Sports Rugby channels.

Flex customers can also get a 10% bill credit when they subscribe for Premier Sports through their Virgin Media bill, reducing the effective price to just £14.40 per month.

Other Premier Sports content includes football action from the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, Scotting League Cup, LALIGA, Ice Hockey, Coppa Italia and Copa del Rey.

It's also possible to add the TNT Sports pack to Virgin Media TV, with one of the cheapest prices for TNT Sports against other pay TV providers.

TNT Sports now bundles Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, and hosts 52 Premier League matches, the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Premiership Rugby, and MotoGP among other sporting fixtures.

On Virgin Media, TNT Sports costs just £18 per month, and Flex customers can also benefit from a 10% bill credit offer, reducing the price to just £16.20 per month.

While Virgin Media TV services are restricted to those who live within a Virgin Media network area, this is expanding.

Virgin Media now pass over 18.3 million premises, with 6.4 million of these served by full fibre to the home connections.

Broadband speeds are available up to 2Gbps, with Virgin Media Gig2, and those in full fibre enabled areas also able to opt for symmetrical upload speeds on any package tier.
