Brsk has launched their BetterNet2000 home broadband plan, with average download speeds of 2Gbps.
Independent full fibre broadband network, Brsk, has announced the launch of their first multi-gigabit broadband plan, BetterNet2000.
BetterNet2000 is a residential home broadband plan, which offers average download and upload speeds of 2Gbps, or 2000Mbps.
Priced at £55 per month for new customers on a 24-month plan, its £25 more per month than their 1Gb option, BetterNet1000.
Brsk's new BetterNet2000 package offers symmetrical upload and download speeds of 2Gb per second, with unlimited usage and optional home phone line and whole home WiFi guarantee.
It joins other multi-gigabit packages grappling to become the UK's fastest broadband deal from providers including Virgin Media, Vodafone, Trooli, and LightSpeed.
Customers will receive a new TP-Link EX820v AX6000 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 VoIP Router, which Brsk say offers the WiFi speed, capacity and low latency needed to enjoy the 2Gbps speeds on offer.
BetterNet2000 has been priced at £55 per month on a 24-month contract term for new customers, with pricing set at £65 per month for those who want a rolling monthly contract.
Some of Brsk's existing customers got to trial the new 2Gb plan in September, with one of the trial participants saying the upgrade felt, "dramatic, as someone who has over 40 devices on their network, it means more devices are able to use the connection, especially those using wired as not every device is now fighting for bandwidth, and instead now has twice the room to send and receive packets."
To make the most of such fast download speeds, Brsk recommend their BetterWiFi add-on for BetterNet2000 customers, which costs an extra £10 per month.
BetterWiFi is Brsk's whole home WiFi guarantee, and includes specific TP-Link HX710 Pro devices to work with the BetterNet2000 router.
Brsk engineers will come to your home and install the additional mesh devices for you, including placing them in the best locations for whole home wireless coverage.
The guarantee itself only promises minimum download speeds of 10Mbps, which seems rather low compared to other whole home WiFi guarantees, but should at least rule out any deadspots.
Head of Networks at brsk, Jody Botham, says, "While no wireless system is perfect, we understand that it is key to our customers' experience when using our broadband products, and so for the 2Gbps product it was really important for us to make sure we selected equipment that can deliver the performance to make the most of this product. We've made a significant investment in our CPE testing platform, which has allowed us to validate the functionality and benchmark the performance of a number of vendors' CPE models, that on paper should have very similar performance, whereas in reality we saw some big differences. We selected the TP-Link devices based on their superior performance. As a partner, they've been very supportive throughout this process and we're looking forward to working with them over the coming months and years."
As well as launching a new 2Gb broadband deal, Brsk have also slashed the pricing of their other three broadband plans, with savings now available up to £240 over the 24-month contract term.
BetterNet150, the provider's entry-level deal, has been reduced in price from £25 per month to just £19 per month for 24 months, a saving of £144.
BetterNet500, with 500Mbps symmetrical speeds, now cost £25 per month, down from £33, saving customers £192 in total.
While Brsk's gigabit broadband plan, BetterNet1000, has been reduced from £40 to £30 per month, saving customers £240 over the length of the 24-month minimum term.
All customers also benefit from free installation, which Brsk say is worth a further £150 saving.
