The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a quad camera array featuring a 108MP main wide lens, a 10MP telephoto lens, a 10MP periscope telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide lens.

Dual pixel PDAF and OIS feature on the telephoto lenses for improved focus and shot stability, while the wide lens features PFAD, Laser AF and OIS. The ultrawide lens features dual pixel PDAF and Super Steady technology for video shooting.

On the front of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra there is a 40MP selfie camera featuring PDAF.

Video recording on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is available in 8K at 24 fps, 4K at 30/60 fps, 1080p at 30/60/240 fps or 720p at 960 fps. HDR10+ is also supported. The selfie camera records in 4K at 30/60 fps or 1080p at 30 fps.

Samsung enhanced its camera technology for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, offering improved optical image and digital image stabilisation compared to its predecessor. This offers an improved zoom photo experience.

Display

The display on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. This adaptive refresh rate cycles from 1Hz to 120Hz depending on how the device is being used and to balance the needs of brightness and battery life.

Samsung have included the Vision Booster feature on the S22 Ultra, adjusting the brightness of the display automatically using AI.

A small drill hole at the top of the screen houses the selfie camera while there is an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the display for unlocking the device.

Storage

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is available with storage up to 1TB, although most UK networks are only offering the 128GB, 256GB and 512GB versions.

As there is no external storage option on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, customers should choose the amount of storage they need based on their personal requirements. People who shoot a lot of 4K video may need more device storage.

Design

Unlike other devices in the S22 range, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra does not feature a contour cut camera and instead offers a sleek set of cameras on the back of the handset.
