The Samsung Galaxy S22+ has the same triple camera array featured on the standard S22: a 50MP wide lens with Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS, a 10MP telephoto lens with PDAF, OIS and 3x optical zoom, plus a 12MP ultrawide lens with Super Steady video technology.
On the front of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus there is a single 10MP wide lens that features Dual Pixel PDAF to improve the focus and stability of shots.
Samsung improved the sensor on the Galaxy 22 Plus compared to the previous iteration. This allows more light into the frame for improved low-light photography. In addition, they have altered the glass on the camera lenes to a new Super Clear Glass that reduces lens flare in low light situations.
8K video recording is supported on the Samsung Galaxy S22+ at 24 fps. Users can also record in 4K at up to 60 fps or 1080p at up to 240 fps. Shooting in 720p is available at 960fps. Meanwhile, the selfie camera supports filming in 4K and 1080p.
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ comes with a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+. It features a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate that ensures the screen refreshes up to 120 times per second for improved brightness and an enhanced viewing experience. The automatic dynamic range is designed to help conserve battery.
Samsung include their new Vision Booster technology with the Samsung Galaxy S22+ to improve the brightness of the display. This uses AI to adapt the display to the lightning conditions to help visibility in any setting.
Samsung customers can choose from 128GB and 256GB storage options on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus. Both storage options are available from UK networks.
There is no MicroSD card slot on the Galaxy S22+ or on any of the S22 series devices. However, customers can use cloud storage to supplement their on-device storage if needed.
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ has Gorilla Glass on the front and rear along with an aluminium frame that Samsung say has more drop and scratch resistance than the previous year's model.
Stylistically, the Galaxy S22+ looks similar to its predecessor, although the contour cut camera on this device is the same colour while the S21+ was a two tone colourway. There is a punch hole camera on the front, meaning there is no notch at the top of the screen.
Four colour options are available direct from UK mobile networks: Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green or Pink Gold.
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ offers wired charging at 45W, an increase compared to the previous model. Samsung say this allows for 0% to 50% in 20 minutes, although the charger is sold separately.
Armour Aluminium is the name Samsung have given to the upgraded aluminium body of their phone that debuted on the Samsung S22 Series for the first time.
In the UK, the Samsung Galaxy S22+ has an Exynos 2200 chipset. Other versions of the device sold in countries including North America have a Snapdragon chip.
Typical users will see between 6 and 7.5 hours of use per day, depending on what tasks they undertake on the handset. The Samsung Galaxy S22+ battery is slightly smaller than its predecessor at 4500mAh.
