The Samsung Galaxy S22 is the entry-level device in the Samsung S22 series of smartphones.
It offers a triple rear camera including a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and the ability to record video in 8K.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 features a triple rear camera featuring a 50MP 23mm wide lens (f/1.8), a 12MP 13mm ultrawide lens (f/2.2) and a 10MP 70mm telephoto lens (f/2.4) with 3x optical zoom.
Both the telephoto and wide lenses come with optical image stabilisation (OIS), while the telephoto offers phase detection auto focus (PDAF) and the wide lens goes a step further with Dual Pixel PDAF. These are designed to improve the stability and focus of photographs. The ultrawide lens comes with Super Steady video technology.
There is a single 10MP 26mm wide lens on the front of the Samsung Galaxy S22 with an aperture of f/2/2. This lens also has Dual Pixel PDAF.
Video recording on the Samsung Galaxy S22 can be in up to 8K, with the highest resolution supported at 24 fps. 4K recording is supported at 30/60 fps, 1080p recording at 30/60/240 fps and 720p at 960fps. The Samsung Galaxy S22 also supports HDR10+.
With a screen size of 6.1-inches, the Samsung Galaxy S22 is the smallest device in the S22 series and comes with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. The brightness on this display is enhanced by Samsung's Vision Booster technology which aims to increase the visibility of the screen without compromising on the quality of the picture.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 comes with a 120Hz refresh rate that enables the screen to refresh 120 times per second to further improve brightness and usability. This refresh rate is adaptive to help preserve battery life.
Two storage options are available on the Samsung Galaxy S22: 128GB and 256GB.
There is no expandable storage on the Samsung Galaxy S22, so users are limited to a maximum of 256GB on the handset itself. However, cloud storage can be used to expand the storage off the device.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 is almost identical to the S21 in design, with a contour cut camera featuring vertically stacked lenses. The major design difference on the camera unit is the fact that the colour matches the rest of the handset, whereas the previous model differed.
