The Apple iPhone 13 Pro is a 2021 handset delivering improved camera and video functionality and the first 120Hz refresh rate on an iPhone.

It is available in four storage options up to 1TB and a range of four professional colours: Graphite, Gold, Silver and Sierra Blue.

Apple has also improved the battery life on this device, allowing customers up to 1.5 hours longer screen time compared to the previous iteration of the handset.

Camera

The Apple iPhone 13 Pro has three rear 12MP cameras: a 26mm wide lens with a 1.5 aperture, a 13mm ultrawide lens with an aperture of 1.8 and a 77mm telephoto lens with an aperture of 2.8 and the equivalent of 3x optical zoom. There is also a LiDAR scanner to improve depth perception on the device.

Video recording on the rear camera is available in 4K at 24 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps while 1080p recording is available at 30 fps, 60 fps, 120 fps or 240 fps. For the first time, video recording is available in ProRes format for professionals who use it.

Internal camera enhancements have improved the Apple iPhone 13 Pro's ability to capture photography in low light and have increased the size of the sensor to further improve shots.

The selfie camera on the Apple iPhone 13 Pro is a 12MP wide lens accompanied by a depth and biometrics sensor. It supports video recording in 4K at up to 60 fps or in 1080p quality at up to 120 fps.

Display

The Apple iPhone 13 Pro comes with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display.

It also brings Apple's ProMotion feature to a smartphone for the first time, allowing a dynamic high refresh rate of 120Hz. This is now a common feature on devices from other manufacturers and Apple has finally added it to their Apple iPhone 13 Pro for 2021.

Storage

The Apple iPhone 13 Pro comes with four storage options: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB or 1024GB (1TB). This is a huge upgrade on the available storage options with the previous model which topped out at 512GB.

While there is no microSD card on the Apple iPhone 13 Pro, the choice of a 1TB internal memory is one of those elements that make the device different to its competitors. However, many customers looking at Apple iPhone 13 Pro will find enough storage capacity in 128GB or 256GB.

Design

Little has changed in the design of the Apple iPhone 13 Pro compared to the previous model.

The device is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, the strongest available on the market, and comes with a stainless steel frame that is colour matched to the colour of the device. The notch on the Apple iPhone 13 Pro has been reduced by 20%, while the camera bump on the rear of the device is slightly larger.
